Design Solution
The customer was manufacturing a medical display utilizing separate 7 segment LED displays along with discrete LED lamps. This manufacturing process included multiple component placements and bin storage and sorting issues during production.
APLUS reviewed the production process and suggested a custom LED block incorporating the multiple LEDs into a single block and adding a multi-color dead front. This redesigned single part and overlay provided a user friendly custom look and easy placement onto the PCB. The client also outsourced bin sort management to APLUS at a lower overall cost and ease of supply chain management.
